About The Position

Position Overview: Supports Department of the Air Force (DAF) installations with configuration, sustainment, and troubleshooting of network connectivity and system integration for Advanced Meter Reading System (AMRS) and CE-CS platforms. Applies technical expertise in VLAN configuration, switch management, and secure data transmission to facilitate connectivity between AMRS devices and government networks. Works collaboratively with cyber, network enclave, and base-level stakeholders to maintain secure and reliable operations aligned with DAF cybersecurity and energy assurance requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M compliant certification) required for privileged access.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in network configuration, IT system integration, or technical support roles.
  • Hands-on experience with switch configuration, VLANs, and TCP/IP troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DOD Secret security clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or similar certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with DoD enclave structures, DISA STIGs, and cybersecurity frameworks preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Configures and maintains network switches, VLANs, and communication settings for AMRS and CE-CS systems.
  • Troubleshoots communication issues between AMRS devices, data servers, and government network enclaves.
  • Supports installation site visits to verify network infrastructure readiness and assist with system commissioning.
  • Coordinates with cybersecurity teams to address compliance requirements related to STIGs, ports/protocols, and Authority to Operate (ATO) conditions.
  • Monitors system uptime and supports sustainment activities to maintain operational reliability.
  • Assists in validating CE-CS data flows for decision support systems and energy management tools.
  • Contributes to configuration documentation, network diagrams, and system inventory updates.
  • Participates in daily coordination with base points of contact and enterprise stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain performance.
