The Network Engineer I provides technical support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Local Area Network (LAN) environments. This role assists in hardware and software evaluation, performs routine troubleshooting, and ensures network availability. Working under immediate supervision, the position applies established technical procedures to support stable and secure network operations. Requirements

  • Approximately zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in networking or related technical field.
  • Working knowledge of basic networking principles and LAN operations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot routine hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with network operating systems and telecommunications equipment.
  • Ability to follow established technical procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required;OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support in the installation and maintenance of LAN environments.
  • Assist in evaluating hardware and software, including telecommunications and peripheral equipment.
  • Install network hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Monitor data communications to ensure network availability and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine network issues.
  • Maintain simple network environments of approximately 25 or fewer nodes, or support a segment of a larger network.
  • Apply commonly used networking concepts and practices.
  • Follow established technical guidelines and procedures under supervision.
  • Support documentation of network configurations and operational activities.
