About The Position

Network Engineer 2 wanted by Nevada Power Company, d/b/a NV Energy in Las Vegas, NV. 40 hrs/wk. Duties include: Develop, plan, & design resource req. & cost estimates for construction & maintenance projects involving data & VoIP networks, generation maintenance projects & facilities, properties & facilities projects. May plan & coord. cross-functional activities, change mgmt. & resource availability. Coord. contractor resources to visit sites & perform network adds, removals & maintenance. Monitor sys. ops. & adjust op. plans. Design & develop complex data network plans for network upgrades & expansion. Design & implement complex data sys., network config. & network architecture, including hardware & software tech., site locations, business continuity, disaster recovery, & integration of tech. Review analyses & tech. feasibility to develop data network deployment strategies. Review data network growth forecasts to ensure business needs are translated into network capacity req. Support efforts to resolve data network problems & incidents through root cause analysis & study of network deficits. Identify & test current conditions & provide recomm. to ensure data network infrastructure is positioned to meet business req. Support ISO 27001 recertification & annual audits. Create & maintain asset data records in internal system of record. Specify, quote & order materials for projects & ongoing maintenance.

Requirements

Bach. degree, or foreign equiv., in Comp. Science, Info. or Digital Tech., or related field in digital science.
Higher degree accepted but not a min. req.
3 yrs exp. in job offered or as Network Eng.
Cisco CCNA Certification.
1 yr exp in App. Centric Infrastructure (ACI) datacenter environments.
2 yrs exp in each: Wireshark for network diagnostics & troubleshooting; Extreme Networks routing, switching, & wireless LAN; configurating & maintaining identity & access control policy with Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE).
3 yrs exp in each: Cisco routing, switching, & wireless LAN; datacenter environments, installing, removing hardware; hands-on exp networking routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP & OSPF; implementing ACLs, IPSec Tunnels, NATs, Site to Site VPNs, VRFs, SDN, SD-WAN, STP, RSTP, MPLS; firewall configurations.
5% short-term travel within State of NV.
