Summary: The Network and DICOM Integration Engineer is responsible for defining, documenting and implementing WAN integration and DICOM data transfer solutions for new vRad clients. This includes clients that require an onsite hardware solution for reliable and fast data transfer. Provides guidance and high level software support for both business and medical systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Install, test and troubleshoot VPN connectivity for new vRad clients Design, deploy and document wide area networks for vRad clients Coordinate with vRad clients to install networking/DICOM gateway hardware in client data centers as required Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to off-site WAN hardware and DICOM gateway software use, support, security and backup Participate in the development and implementation of disaster recovery procedures as they pertain to WAN infrastructure for clients using vRad hardware onsite Communicate with other departments in reporting and resolving software, hardware and operational issues that impact WAN connectivity or DICOM data transfer Support connectivity to vRad PACS and RIS production systems Escalation to engineering resources on bugs and enhancements for both business and medical systems Serve as an escalation point for Tier2/Tier3 Tech Support organization for WAN connectivity and data transfer Ability to participate in on-call rotation as needed to support radiologists and other systems support issues Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred 5+ years network experience CCNA or CCNP level of understanding of routing and switching 4+ years IPSEC VPN tunnel management Experience with Medical Imaging and PACS, including an in-depth knowledge of DICOM transfer protocols Strong project management, critical thinking, and analytical skills Ability to communicate clearly with customers at all levels of expertise Expertise in various networking topologies and protocols Experience with network monitoring systems Experience with trouble ticketing systems Network Address Translation (NAT) and subnetting skills Experience with Internet services and protocols Working with multi-vendor firewall and VPN devices: Cisco ASA, Cisco Pix, Cisco Concentrator, SonicWall, CheckPoint, Nortel Contivity, Juniper, WatchGuard and Symantec DICOM router/gateway experience Experience with various System Operating Systems, such as Windows, Linux and Unix Job Classification: Sedentary- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
