About The Position

The Network Architect provides senior-level technical leadership for voice and data communication solutions that support AMC’s core operations. This role ensures the performance, availability, and scalability of network infrastructure and collaborates closely with infrastructure, theatre, and corporate systems teams to deliver innovative and effective networking solutions. This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in designing and developing voice and data network systems, with a deep understanding of related technologies, protocols, and industry standards.
  • Hands-on experience with implementing and managing routing and switching technologies across multiple vendors (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, f5), including the configuration and enforcement of firewall access rules.
  • Experience with the architecture and security of cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards (e.g., SOX, PCI, CPCA).
  • Ability to stay current with emerging technologies and evolving industry trends.
  • Strong technical writing skills for creating detailed documentation and architecture diagrams.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field with an IT focus, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in the Information Technology field.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP or CCDA, or comparable qualifications.
  • Demonstrated success in developing innovative network solutions that improve operational efficiency.
  • Experience supporting complex, multi-site enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and multi-vendor systems integration.
  • Advanced understanding of security architecture and risk mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement advanced network architecture for voice and data systems.
  • Develop specifications and roadmaps for complex network systems and future upgrades.
  • Lead the implementation of approved technologies and system enhancements.
  • Provide architectural guidance to business analysts, system administrators, and key stakeholders.
  • Document existing network infrastructure and ensure all changes are clearly recorded.
  • Define and document test requirements to validate network performance against organizational goals.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and cost-efficiency.
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
