About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Architect, Subject Matter Expert (SME), to lead the design, evaluation, and modernization of secure enterprise networks supporting mission-critical operations for United States Army, Pacific . This is a full-time, on-site position in Honolulu, HI, focused on delivering scalable, resilient network architectures across classified and unclassified environments. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership presence, and the ability to advise senior stakeholders on architecture strategy, cyber posture, and operational readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, systems architecture, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 10+ years of senior-level network architecture or engineering experience supporting DoD or joint command environments.
  • Active CCNP Enterprise certification at start date.
  • Demonstrated experience designing secure, scalable enterprise networks in classified and unclassified environments.
  • Expertise in network architecture, firewall policy, routing protocols, QoS, cloud enablement, and cross-domain solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of DoD architecture frameworks, RMF, and mission-driven network requirements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to engage senior leadership.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt in dynamic operational environments.
  • Proven judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive technical matters.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract obligations.
  • Current DoD Top Secret clearance at start date with the ability to obtain TS/SCI via SSBI.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced computing or architecture certifications such as CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure/Security, cloud architecture certifications, or vendor-neutral equivalents.
  • Security and governance certifications (e.g., CAP/CGRC, SecurityX, CISM, CISSP, GSLC).
  • Extensive experience applying DoD IA policy to enterprise network design.
  • Experience developing system design plans, infrastructure documentation, test plans, and implementation schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead network architect for classified and unclassified headquarters networks and future-state architecture planning.
  • Advise senior leadership on technology selection, optimization strategies, and enterprise capability enhancements.
  • Evaluate enterprise architecture against mission objectives, scalability requirements, and cybersecurity posture.
  • Develop and present cost-benefit analyses, engineering strategies, and risk assessments for major upgrades and transitions.
  • Design integration strategies for data center operations, disaster recovery, and wireless network expansion.
  • Lead stakeholder collaboration and long-range engineering planning aligned with operational readiness.
  • Evaluate network topology, routing, and integration architecture to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
  • Provide oversight for design compliance, cross-domain integration, and risk management reviews.
  • Conduct facility and infrastructure assessments to support equipment installation and growth initiatives.
  • Deliver technical documentation including system design plans, implementation schedules, and validation testing support.
  • Provide expert support across secure and non-secure environments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
