About The Position

Working under the supervision of the Director of Technology and Innovation, the Network and Technology Systems Administrator oversees day-to-day operations, provides Tier 2 technical support, and manages district technology projects. This role ensures the stability, security, and efficiency of Woburn Public Schools' network infrastructure and digital systems while supporting the district's educational goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field.

  • Google Workspace Administrator Certification
  • AV/VoIP certifications (e.g., Crestron, Extron, or manufacturer-specific training)
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

  • Knowledge of network security best practices, VLANs, and Wi-Fi management

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations and helpdesk requests to ensure timely and accurate problem resolution.
  • Provide Tier 2 support and root cause analysis for complex technical issues.
  • Coordinate and schedule Technology Support Specialists to meet project timelines.
  • Provide performance feedback on Technology Support Specialists to inform evaluations and address performance issues.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology to ensure smooth district technology operations.
  • Maintain and monitor the district's wired and wireless networks, ensuring stability, reliability, and security.
  • Maintain and update the district cybersecurity plan in collaboration with the Director of Technology & Innovation to ensure compliance and threat readiness.
  • Support the Director of Technology and Innovation, working with city technology departments and Facilities to manage network infrastructure, including security cameras, access control, and environmental monitoring.
  • Support district participation in the E-Rate program.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of hardware and software, including inventory, deployment, maintenance, repair, replacement, and recycling.
  • Alongside the Director of Technology and Innovation, maintain the Chromebook and Google Workspace Admin Console accounts, settings, and security
  • Work with the Director of Technology and Innovation to develop plans and manage the budget for hardware and software upgrades and replacements to ensure cost-effective and reliable technology solutions.
  • Coordinate vendor installations, repairs, and maintenance for A/V, VoIP, and other technology systems, ensuring quality and completion.
  • Collaborate with Facilities on infrastructure changes, ensuring proper VLAN segmentation and compliance with district security standards.
  • Plan and oversee technology capital projects in coordination with the Director of Technology & Innovation.
  • Support computer-based and paper-based testing by preparing, configuring, and testing devices to ensure disruption-free testing.
  • Assist staff with technology integration to support district educational initiatives.
  • Upon request, assist with public-facing/district-level presentations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Technology & Innovation or Superintendent of Schools.
