About The Position

Directly support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), F/A-18 & EA-18G Fleet Support Team (FST) at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, California. Duties will include: Conduct quarterly STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) compliance reviews using SCAP and Evaluate-STIG tools to test and implement security controls. Administer and maintain the Windows Active Directory Environment, including troubleshooting and implementing Group Policy Objects (GPOs). Complete DISA STIG checklists to ensure systems meet Department of Defense security standards. Develop and maintain POA&Ms (Plans of Action and Milestones). Perform continuous monitoring tasks, including running ACAS and Nessus Manager scans daily. Implement and troubleshoot weekly patch compliance for client and server devices using the Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) server. Create, test, and deploy MECM custom packages and updates. Maintain the configuration and security posture of information systems through monitoring and reporting security events with tools like VRAM and Microsoft Defender Endpoint. Build, Configure and manage VMware tools, including vSphere (ESXi) and vCenter. Manage network storage solutions such as Dell EMC and Data Domain. Configure and manage platforms like WSUS, IIS 10.0, Microsoft SQL 2016 or higher, and MECM update 2309 or higher. Maintain detailed documentation, including knowledge bases, incident response actions, system configurations, and administrative processes. Secure information systems and applications in alignment with DoD guidance. Manage the Veeam Backup solution for system backups and disaster recovery planning. Coordinate and implement software upgrades, patches, and hotfixes on servers and workstations. Install, configure, optimize, and troubleshooting commercial and custom software. Address hardware and software issues on servers, workstations, and IT equipment. Provide technical support to customers, resolving issues and delivering best practice guidance. Manage user accounts and permissions via Domain Controllers and Group Policy Management. Optimize system operations, improve resource utilization, and conduct system capacity analysis and planning. Plan and implement system upgrades and new deployments for hardware and software solutions.

Requirements

  • Candidate will possess CompTIA Security +.
  • Within twelve months will obtain commercial certifications in Windows Server (at least 2019) and Windows Client (Windows 10), or as directed by Server Admin Manager.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in systems administration.
  • BS or BA degree in a Computer Science or "Relevant Technical Discipline".
  • CompTIA Security + certification is required.
  • Current Secret clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Microsoft SQL 2016 or higher, IIS 10.0 or higher, Dell EMC and Data Domain, and VMWare and VSphere.
