About The Position

The Network and Computer Systems Administrator provides Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (CCSD), also known as AFLCMC/HNC or HNC, life-cycle management for Information Assurance (IA) and other critical systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field with 4 years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience with NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, NSANet, and Tier1 networks with AFMAN 17-1203 (or latest version).
  • Understanding of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI), National Electric Code, and International Organization of Standardization (ISO 9000)
  • Registered IAT Level II baseline certification: either CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP (preferred Security+ CE certificate)
  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • Valid Counter Intelligence (CI) Polygraph in order to obtain NSA access and perform maintenance on NSA servers

Responsibilities

  • Provide systems management, installation design & implementation, preventive maintenance, system troubleshooting, and end-user support for HNC customers.
  • Support and maintain the network backbone infrastructure—including routing and switching devices—across all CCSD-occupied buildings.
  • Provide support to the following information systems, including but not limited to NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, NSANet, and Tier1 networks.
  • Support secure and non-secure data systems, including but not limited to Internet Protocol (IP) equipment, Network Management equipment, Switching Systems, Cryptographic equipment, and patch facilities.
  • Conduct system monitoring, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and security compliance.
  • Maintain and support secure and non-secure transmission systems, including but not limited to fiber optic media, media converters, copper media, and cryptographic equipment.
  • Services include routine maintenance, fault isolation, and timely resolution of transmission issues to ensure system reliability and compliance with applicable security standards.
  • Ensure all telecommunication rooms comply with applicable industry and regulatory standards, including but not limited to the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI), National Electric Code, and International Organization of Standardization (ISO 9000), and all relevant local policies and procedures.
  • Provide Network IT Asset Management services in accordance with AFMAN 17-1203 (or latest version) for the management of network routing equipment, network switching equipment, and other accountable IT assets for unclassified and classified networked systems. Services include inventory management, tracking, and ensuring proper configuration and security of assets throughout their lifecycle.
