About The Position

The Network Administrator (Systems) role is to implement, monitor, and maintain both test and production enterprise systems while ensuring high levels of availability. This position is also responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of core information systems.

Requirements

  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Exhibits excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to learn and utilize new software programs as systems are upgraded.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a related field or at least 3 years of System/Network Administration experience.
  • Preferred 3 years of administration experience in DLP, email, Windows Active Directory, and Endpoint Security.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Tier Two Help Desk Support as needed
  • Assists with the administration of the district's core information systems and services. Plans, tests, implements and provides troubleshooting support on equipment installed in the data center.
  • Supports data backup, disaster recovery and data compliance strategies.
  • Support Windows Active Directory, DNS, virtual operating system environments, preferably VMWare. Experience and familiarity with Storage Area Networks.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, or other network and system problems, and replace defective components when necessary.
  • Coordinates server upgrades, changes and repairs for the purpose of minimizing risk and down time and maintaining availability of services to authorized users.
  • Participates in a variety of planning and development activities, including districtwide committees for the purpose of creating short- and long-range plans for the ongoing support to the district.
  • Assists in maintaining the cybersecurity posture of the district through administration of MFA, EDR, and phishing awareness campaigns.
  • Performs web server maintenance and security, including installing SSL certificates and performing vulnerability scanning.
  • Maintains security camera systems and data storage for these systems.
  • Responds to emergency situations as needed for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns.
  • Participates in a variety of planning and development activities, including districtwide committees for the purpose of creating short- and long-range plans for the ongoing support of the district.
  • Prepares written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  • Trains other District staff for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new and/or existing operating systems and application software.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources for the purpose of providing technical assistance, support, and solution to network problems.
  • Manages special projects as assigned by the Director of Information Technology Services for the purpose of implementing key district initiatives.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient, effective functioning of the work unit.
