About The Position

DPH has recently migrated its primary server environment to the State IT Data Center. Although the <\/div> primary migration has occurred, additional remediation efforts are required to get that environment <\/div> into a segmented framework and upgrade to newer operating systems. Due to the volume of systems, <\/div> interdependencies, servers, and security remediation efforts currently underway, additional resources <\/div> are needed to support these efforts. The team will ensure systems are set up following industry best <\/div> practices to ensure strategic initiatives and compliance with federal and state regulatory laws and <\/div> ensure business continuity. These individuals will focus on the modernization of legacy computer <\/div> systems, assist with modifications to computer systems to ensure upgrade compatibility from older to <\/div> newer platform environments, application modifications to meet state and agency security standards, <\/div> assist with application evaluation and build specifications, and follow industry best practices. <\/div> Emphasis will be placed on supporting administrative systems and work in a team environment <\/div> responsible for these efforts. Reporting functionally will be focused on Microsoft RDLC, SSRS, and <\/div> O365 PowerBi. <\/div> Candidates should be self -motivated, team -oriented, work under limited supervision, and respond to <\/div> priority tasks as needed. Responsibilities

  • Participate in a team environment comprised of DPH staff to assist with the <\/div> remediation and upgrade of administration transactional systems residing on agency <\/div> servers migrated to the State IT Data Center.
  • Emphases for the Programmer candidates <\/div> will be on the modernization of legacy computer systems associated with <\/div> Administrative systems, assisting with modifications of those computer systems to <\/div> ensure upgrade compatibility from older to newer platform environments, application <\/div> modifications to meet state and agency security standards, assisting with application <\/div> evaluation and build specifications, and implementing industry standards following the <\/div> Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Perform complex programming functions, assistance, and technical advice, <\/div> including design architecture, configuration, writing, testing, and <\/div> documentation to the complex programming of agency computer systems as <\/div> assigned.
  • Modernization of legacy computer systems to ASP.Net MVC or CORE <\/div> environment.
  • Modification of existing computer systems to be compliant with agency <\/div> security requirements.
  • Migration and modification of existing computer systems in older environments <\/div> to newer platform environments, following industry best practices.
  • Ensure maximum system uptime for critical components to ensure business <\/div> continuity.
  • Diagnoses, isolates and de -bugs software problems and performs problem <\/div> resolution.
  • Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster <\/div> recovery procedures and provides Tier 2 technical support.
  • Adheres to Information Technology application development standards and <\/div> security requirements.
  • All code to be checked in and out through code repository Git.
  • Ensure applications are compatible in major web browsers (IE, Chrome, <\/div> Firefox, etc.).
  • Ensure supporting system database connection strings are updated to support <\/div> database migration from DB2 to SQL database.
  • Add required functionality to existing systems to retire active mainframe forms <\/div> and streamline backend processes where possible.
  • Prepare and maintain system documentation and architecture diagrams for <\/div> applications assigned.
  • Work in a collaborative effort to conceptualize total systems and/or product <\/div> solutions currently in place and remediation to the system environment residing <\/div> at the State IT Data Center.
  • Ability to plan, organize, review, and implement associated project milestones <\/div> to completion.
  • Recommend and assist in the design of system architectures to align with <\/div> organizational strategic business objectives.

  • The position will be utilized for 40 hours per week for the duration of this project.
  • The <\/div> selected candidates should be able to work flexible hours, as it may be necessary to <\/div> complete work outside traditional business hours during production system rollouts.
  • The candidates will work closely with the Administration Applications Section <\/div> Manager to identify, prioritize, and schedule workload and implementation to IT <\/div> standards and procedures.
