About The Position

American Leather is an established, stable company with a 30-year history of success. An industry leader in luxury furniture innovation and superb customer service, we are seeking a Nester- Night to work alongside the Cutting Department.

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Cutting Supervisor, the Nester will be responsible for maximizing the utilization of leather using internal computerized system (Humantec/FOF). Employees are required to work a full work week and be flexible for overtime as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to operate a computer including the mouse function
• Familiar with the leather hides and their quality standards.
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time while operating equipment
• Basic knowledge of English and Math

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read drawings a plus

Responsibilities

• Identify frame code by style cover components and options.
• Maintain a yield of 67% or higher and nest at least 150 SQ_FT of leather per hour.
• Read traveler for correct instructions on what the primary cover will be composed of.
• Inspect and select more suitable leather to complete the assigned schedule group.
• Understand the basics of the different leather types and flaws by utilizing a leather manual
• Perform reworks as required
• Assure that the nesting station receives the appropriate maintenance/clean up and performs at acceptable levels.
