The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is offering experienced nurses an exciting opportunity to transition into the specialized field of NICU. Registered Nurses for the Neonatal ICU serve a population of Level II & Level III newborns. As a Magnet recognized organization, these highly trained nurses provide the highest quality of care in complex and difficult situations to their patients and families. We seek dedicated nurses who are passionate about serving our unique patient population and motivated by opportunities for professional growth. Ideal candidates demonstrate strong foundational nursing skills, attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and actively participate in unit-based or hospital-wide councils. We also value multilingual proficiency and a commitment to lifelong learning, including engagement in conferences, volunteer work, or other professional development activities. Our Nurse Residency Transition Program is designed to equip experienced nurses with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in Neonatal ICU setting. This structured program includes focused classroom instruction and individualized 12-16 week precepted clinical experience tailored to support your transition. Both the didactic and hands-on components emphasize the competencies needed to deliver nursing care in the NICU. Upon completion, participants will be well-prepared to advance as highly skilled NICU RNs. Participants in the transition program will receive their regular hourly pay throughout the training. This schedule provides maximum exposure to the new clinical environment, colleagues, and patient populations. Each nurse is responsible in collaboration with their preceptor and clinical nurse educator to devise weekly goals. Basic computer proficiency is inclusive of the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information. Effective interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with various healthcare team members, patients, and families. Organizational skills to set priorities and efficiently complete assigned work. Genuine interest in neonatal nursing, strong work ethic and dedication to continuous learning and professional growth. Demonstrates empathy and understanding toward families experiencing high levels of stress. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification is preferred for certain practice areas.
