About The Position

Emory University is seeking a Neonatal Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) for the School of Medicine - Pediatrics, Level III. This role involves managing the care of neonates who are suffering from moderate health conditions or are recovering from more serious conditions, under the supervision of an attending neonatologist and following established protocols. The provider will attend and assist with routine and high-risk deliveries for neonates in collaboration with the larger medical team. Responsibilities include collaborating with other healthcare professionals to identify and stabilize at-risk infants and establish care plans, assessing patients by obtaining comprehensive perinatal histories, performing physical assessments of body systems, and interpreting findings. With required physician supervision, the provider may perform or order diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for newborns. The position also requires thorough documentation of all aspects of patient care, serving as a consultant on the care of chronically ill infants or those with complex medical problems, assisting with family education, and participating in outreach education activities and staff orientation.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) program, Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (AC-PNP) program, or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
  • Currently licensed as an acute care advanced practice provider in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body OR Certified as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • BLS certification.
  • NRP certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner or physician assistant in ICU or ICU-like setting.
  • At least one year of direct experience in neonatology.
  • Master’s prepared Neonatal Nurse Practitioner with APRN licensure in GA.
  • Master’s prepared Physician Assistant with APRN licensure in GA.
  • Related experience.

Responsibilities
