About The Position

The NCCER Construction and Education Manager oversees NCCER Construction Trades and GED instructors, ensuring that classroom, field, and hands-on lab instruction effectively prepares participants for entry-level employment in the construction field. This position ensures instruction aligns with NCCER Core Curriculum, GED, and TABE standards while integrating essential skills that help participants transition into career pathways, apprenticeships, military service, and employment opportunities. Instructional areas include Basic Mathematics, NCCER Core Curriculum, and LEED v4.1.

Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse, multicultural, underserved, and underrepresented communities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • NCCER Certification required.
  • Knowledge of NCCER Core Curriculum; proficiency in construction math preferred.
  • Ability to acquire a Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Strong classroom facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field required.
  • Minimum: 1 year of related experience/training, or equivalent combination.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience assisting with job placement a plus.
  • Preferred: 3 years of related experience/training, or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and evaluate construction trade and GED instructors.
  • Engage, coach, mentor, and guide trainees toward academic, career, and personal goals.
  • Ensures that trainees are prepared to achieve TABE gains
  • Prepared to GED test
  • Deliver engaging classroom and lab instruction, ensuring student mastery of program objectives.
  • Ensure instructional materials and equipment are prepared, maintained, and available.
  • Maintain compliance with NCCER, federal, state, and organizational policies.
  • Actively participate in faculty assessments, professional development, and required meetings.
  • Review assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recordkeeping.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
