About The Position

Requirements

  • Pass criminal record and healthcare registry check
  • Pass driving record check if providing transportation
  • Pass Drug Screen
  • Associates Degree or High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and currently working towards and Associates degree
  • One-year experience in a child care setting or working with special education students preferred
  • North Carolina Early Childhood Credentials
  • Commitment to achieve competency in required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Note: Current First Aid/CPR blended or classroom certification is required. If you do not currently have certification from an approved provider, our American Red Cross certified instructors will provide you the training.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently (per policy)

Nice To Haves

  • One-year experience in a child care setting or working with special education students preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the Center Curriculum
  • Develop relationships in the classroom promoting social emotional learning and well-being
  • Assist teacher with implementing goal oriented planned activities
  • Ensure a safe, positive and stimulating learning environment
  • Perform various routine procedures such as positioning, diapering and feeding
  • Support inclusion and integration.
  • Mentor children to help build social skills and relationships.
  • Use electronic health record to document activities and significant events.
  • Submit documentation and payroll data according to scheduled deadlines.
  • Complete initial and ongoing training, and participate in staff development activities.
  • Administer medications.
  • Assist people with mobility needs, e.g. utilize transfer techniques, a Hoyer lift and/or gait belt.
