Full‑Time • Hourly • On‑Site • Day Shift (5:00am–3:30pm Monday to Thursday, Overtime on Friday as needed) Join our team and help shape high‑quality structural metal products used in machinery and concrete construction equipment. General Summary We are looking for a skilled Machinist to set up and operate conventional, special‑purpose, and NC machines to fabricate precision metallic components. This role involves hands‑on machining, problem‑solving, and working closely with engineering and production teams in a fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

  • A.A. Degree, Machinist Certificate, or Machinist Associate Degree from a technical college/trade school; OR
  • 6 months–1 year of related experience/training; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read/interpret drawings, instructions, and technical documents.
  • Basic CNC programming skills (mills and lathes).
  • Ability to operate: CNC lathes & mills Manual mills & lathes Drill press Hand and air‑powered tools Hoists and material‑handling equipment
  • Computer literacy with the ability to use various software programs and make modifications when required.
  • Strong understanding of plane/solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply fractions, ratios, percentages, and practical math.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using written, verbal, or diagram form instructions.
  • Regularly required to stand, reach, handle, and feel materials and tools.
  • Frequently walk, talk, and hear; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • Able to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand for up to 10 hours in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Exposure to chemicals such as metalworking fluids, cleaners, brake fluid, etc.
  • Loud environment—hearing protection required.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret prints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining steps.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe reference points on materials as guides for machining processes.
  • Select, align, and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials for machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, jig borers, and shapers.
  • Set and adjust machine controls—speed, feed, coolant flow, depth/angle of cut, etc.—or input/modify CNC programs as needed.
  • Operate machines and monitor performance, resolving malfunctions or out‑of‑tolerance issues.
  • Verify accuracy of finished parts to specifications using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Perform trial runs to validate setups or programmed data.
  • Develop part specifications and create sketches from general descriptions when required.
  • Partner with engineers, production staff, and programmers to troubleshoot machining or assembly issues.
  • Maintain clear communication to ensure high‑quality output and efficient workflow.
  • Safely operate hoists and material‑handling equipment.
  • Follow all safety guidelines when handling tools, machinery, and chemicals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform basic programming for mills and lathes.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
