We are seeking an Assistant Program Manager for the Navy Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Program in the Regional Deterrence Capabilities Program Area. As the Assistant Program Manager, you will provide programmatic support as well as technical leadership and oversight to the various projects within the program. The program is organized by interrelated technical disciplines including Systems Engineering, Test and Evaluation, Flight Systems, and Launcher/Shipboard Integration. The most essential function is the ability to provide leadership oversight of the technical, schedule, and cost aspects of program activities and to prioritize tasking consistent with Sponsor needs. We strive to foster an environment of collaboration across the lab. As the CPS Assistant Program Manager, you will... Develop collaborative, trusted relationship with the CPS Navy Sponsor, associated Government entities and program partners. Interface directly with the Navy Sponsor to understand needs and recommend APL support to assist in overall technology maturation and weapon system development and deployment activities. Use insights gained from interaction with the Sponsor and other involved organizations to provide technical and programmatic feedback to the Sponsor. Inform Project Managers, task leads and technical staff on program status, technical and programmatic decisions, and Sponsor feedback. Serve as one of the primary technical thought leaders in formulating vision and executing tasking. Develop and maintain weapon system perspective of tasks being executed by APL and associated external organizations and advise Sponsor on resulting integrated capability. Organize APL activities and track progress. Continually refine APL tasking and schedule execution to best support Sponsor’s needs. Assist with development of new task orders, work with line management to staff the program tasks, and interact with Sponsors. Recruit / assist project managers in recruiting technical support from across the APL enterprise to execute tasks. Track budget and schedule and conduct / complete tasks in accordance with available time and resources. Ensure program execution is consistent with Mission Area and Program Area vision and assist the Program Manager and Program Area Manager in developing future program plans.
