About The Position

Bay State Community Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate BH JI – Navigator to join our team. This is a meaningful opportunity to support individuals involved in the justice system as they work toward stability, recovery, and long-term success. The BH JI – Navigator provides direct support to justice-involved individuals with behavioral health needs. You’ll work closely with clients, community partners, and justice agencies to ensure individuals receive the services, resources, and guidance necessary to thrive. This is a dynamic, community-based position ideal for someone who is organized, empathetic, and committed to social justice and recovery-oriented care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology or related field preferred (but not required)
  • Experience navigating the local treatment and social services systems
  • Experience working with individuals who are justice involved
  • Trained in overdose prevention
  • Knowledgeable about and respects all paths to recovery
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Closely collaborates with the enrollees to develop an individualized plan based on identified needs and goals
  • Assist enrollees with care coordination and scheduling medical appointments
  • Implement recovery oriented, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and strengthen-based rehabilitation practices.
  • Driving is required
