About The Position

This role will be responsible for leading the Nuts About Nature Summer Camp, located at the Tiedemann Park Environmental Education Center. Examples of Duties: Assists with all aspects of the Nuts About Nature Summer Camp. Develops, plans, and leads various activities, games, and lesson plans for predetermined environmental and nature-related weekly topics. Communicates and interacts effectively with both kids and adults. Manages opening and closing responsibilities, including maintaining a key to the facility and building alarm code. Provides a safe and welcoming environment. Cares for resident education animals. Works and coordinates with other camp staff. Maintains punctuality.

Requirements

  • Must have a flexible work schedule that may include early mornings, late afternoons and weekends, depending on programs scheduled on any given week
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 – 6 months of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Is fully available for all weeks (Monday through Friday) in June and July, with the exception of June 30th to July 4th.
  • Primary daily work times will be 8:00am – 1:00pm

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree, or pursuit thereof, in biology, ecology, marine sciences, education or a related field.
