The Natural Resources Technician II position at Deep Creek Lake Natural Resources Management Area (NRMA) provides field and technical support to the Lake Manager in the implementation of natural resource management, visitor services, and recreational access programs. This position plays an important role in assisting with the day-to-day operations of Maryland’s largest freshwater lake, supporting environmental monitoring, permit compliance, and public service functions. Under the direction of the Lake Manager, the Technician performs a variety of duties related to natural resource protection, shoreline permitting, data collection, and general site maintenance across 65 miles of shoreline and 3,900 acres of freshwater at Deep Creek Lake. The Technician supports the issuance of over 1,900 annual shoreline use permits, inspections of 1,500+ parcels with Deed of Conservation Easements, and monitoring activities involving lake usage by over 1.2 million annual visitors.
