About The Position

We are accepting applications for a Natural Resources Technician 1 - Appalachian Hills Visitor Center (1 position available - Morgan County), within the Division of Wildlife, within the state of Ohio. What you will do… Performs a variety of wildlife management practices for upland, forestland & wetland wildlife for habitat, recreation & conservation to include, but not limited to: project planning; transporting equipment; herbicide application; controlled burning; plants & manipulates food plots, fields & trees; maintains dikes, water level control structures & manipulates water levels; use of Geographic Information System [GIS] to understand habitat changes, plan projects & map wildlife area data; traps, ages, sexes & bands waterfowl, barn owls, mourning doves & turkeys; assists with the collection of deer age, sex & condition data; conducts wildlife & research surveys for a variety of wildlife species. Assists in maintaining and operating equipment and establishing property boundary. Performs grounds maintenance of public use facilities. Answers inquiries from the public & distributes general information.

Requirements

  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Section 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
