About The Position

The Natural Resources Specialist I performs routine technical reviews of water district applications and supporting documentation. Reviews district applications to ensure compliance with applicable policies and administrative codes, and statues; communicates with external and internal customers; prepares reports and/or correspondence to summarize all data changes and provides technical assistance when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• One (1) year experience in data analysis, environmental quality management, public utilities, business administration, or a related field or a equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree in wildlife sciences, environmental studies, or engineering.
• Two (2) years of experience in data analysis, resource management, or business administration.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine technical reviews of district applications to ensure compliance with appropriate statutes and TCEQ rules, and generate reports, memorandum, and letters for District Section (DS) management review and approval.
• Communicate technical information regarding water district applications under review.
• Review and input into the Water District Database ( WDD ) requests for DS affiliation data changes, determine accuracy of data, and document decisions to memorialize data determinations.
• Prepare reports or correspondence, assist in the organization, storage, and transfer to the central file room.
• Provide technical assistance in the administrative review portion for district applications.
• Review and input into WDD water district financial information.
• Provide technical assistance regarding reporting of required data for registration of new water districts or updating of water district information.
• Attend training as directed by TCEQ and UTA .
• Performs other duties assigned.
