The position functions within the Center for Resilient Communities and Landscapes Program within the Watershed and Climate Service and will assist the Climate Resilience Program and the Community Partnership Program (Program), Program Manager and staff in building and maintaining impactful relationships with local governments, community partners, networks and non-profits. The goal of the position is to provide strategic outreach, capacity, and technical assistance to constituents across Maryland, specifically those in overburdened and underserved areas. The Program and this position aim to increase both fiscal and programmatic resource opportunities toward implementing restoration and resilience projects. Other job responsibilities include coordinating and attending meetings and outdoor site visits, state and/or federal grant management, and planning events or workshops for specific communities. As a Community Resilience Coordinator, part of this position involves engaging and assisting diverse and under-represented communities to ascertain the skills and knowledge necessary to undertake environmental actions related to restoration, conservation, access, diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Department of Natural Resources, Center for Resilience Communities & Landscapes within the Watershed and Climate Services, is currently accepting applications for a Long-Term Contractual Natural Resource Manager II. This position will assist the Climate Resilience Program to engage and foster partnerships with community-based organizations, local governments, and non-profits across the state. These connections will help deliver strategic technical and financial assistance focused on the restoration of natural resources, community resilience, and climate adaptation to flooding and heat impacts.The position will also serve as a community liaison and coordinator for regional partnerships and networks.
