What you will do: The Natural Resources Specialty for this position is Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, &/or oil and gas field related Act as special assistant in planning, directing, & coordinating for Statewide Disaster Management Program related to oil & gas well drilling, completion, production, & waste management operations in assigned counties Provide guidance & assistance to local governments on individual basis to improve their operational readiness capability to respond & recover from oil & gas emergencies or disasters from drilling, completion, production, & waste management facilities/operations Provide technical guidance & assistance in development & evaluation of preparedness exercises Write emergency operation plans Coordinate damage assessment & needed assessment activities during incident period (e.g., provide notification/warning that emergency/disaster is imminent or has occurred Mobilize emergency/disaster scene & coordinate & document response to incident Act as state representative/liaison for activities onsite Act as expert witness Starting hourly pay of $35.68/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $50.75/hr. There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) applied. Longevity pay supplements begin after five (5) years of state service.
