We are looking for a Natural Gas Engineer to join our ICE Team to improve infrastructure in our Michigan offices. The candidate must have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related engineering field), and have seven to fifteen years of similar work experience. Michigan natural gas utility experience and a Professional Engineer License is preferred. The candidate must also be self-motivated, work well with others, and have excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 30 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include: Design detailed gas distribution systems Design medium, standard, high pressure steel and plastic gas mains and services Vertical and horizontal alignment creation Design regulator stations/districts Compression station design experience is a plus Horizontal directional drill (HDD) modeling is a plus Complete applicable design calculations Prepare installation drawings and specifications/notes Coordinate preparation of specifications and permit submittals Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks Monitor task budget and progress Work with and mentor junior design team Document design changes and communications Conduct on-site inspections as needed Prepare project status and other reports Assist in the preparation of proposals Assist and develop into a Project Manager Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc. Attend seminars and/or training classes Maintain excellent client relations Maintain a safe working environment
