About The Position

The National Sales Manager – Specialty Vertical Markets is responsible for developing, expanding, and maintaining sales growth for Midea’s PTAC/PTHP, TTW, and PWHP product categories across targeted specialty vertical markets in the United States. This role will lead market development, customer acquisition, specification activity, and channel engagement in applications where these product categories offer a strong value proposition. For PTAC/PTHP,TTW and PWHP the primary focus will be the hospitality market, along with colleges and universities, student housing, senior living, and similar institutional or light commercial renovation applications. For PWHP, the focus will be urban housing authorities, utilities, developers, and the high-rise multifamily renovation market. This individual will work closely with independent specification representatives, distributors, developers, consulting engineers, and end users to establish Midea products as a preferred basis-of-design solution. The role will also collaborate with the MARC team and internal cross-functional departments including product management, technical service, training, and marketing. The successful candidate must have strong experience in PTAC/PTHP and TTW products, deep knowledge of the hospitality market, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant HVAC sales, business development, or vertical-market experience.
  • Strong direct experience with PTAC/PTHP and TTW product categories is required.
  • Strong knowledge of the hospitality market is required.
  • Experience developing business in specialty verticals such as hospitality, higher education, student housing, senior living, institutional, multifamily, housing authority, or utility-driven programs.
  • Experience working with independent specification representatives, consulting engineers, developers, ownership groups, and distributors.
  • Understanding of renovation and replacement applications, including projects where central 2-pipe and 4-pipe system replacement is not economically practical.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage a broad territory, and build business with limited supervision.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship management, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, technical service, training, and marketing.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Minium 10 years in the HVAC industry, specifically specialty vertical markets including hospitality for PTAC/HP, TTW and PWHP products.
  • Established relationships in the hospitality renovation and replacement market for PTAC/HP.
  • Ability to leverage distributors for these products and also spec-in reps.
  • Experience influencing product specifications and basis-of-design positioning.
  • Knowledge of utility programs, housing authority procurement environments, and large renovation project cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a national sales and market development strategy for PTAC/PTHP, TTW, and PWHP within defined specialty vertical markets.
  • Drive new business development and revenue growth while expanding relationships with existing customers, accounts, and channel partners.
  • Target and develop business with hospitality ownership groups, hotel management companies, colleges, universities, senior living operators, housing authorities, utilities, developers, and multifamily renovation stakeholders.
  • Identify and prioritize projects, programs, and accounts where Midea solutions can be positioned for renovation, replacement, and specification-driven opportunities.
  • Collaborate with independent specification representatives to create and expand Midea basis-of-design specifications for targeted projects and market segments.
  • Work closely with the MARC team to communicate field requirements, application needs, product opportunities, and technical feedback that support product positioning and market success.
  • Support and influence engineers, architects, consultants, developers, and ownership groups in evaluating and selecting Midea PTAC/PTHP, TTW, and PWHP products.
  • Partner with marketing, product management, technical service, and training teams to develop sales tools, collateral, application messaging, and customer education programs.
  • Build and manage a qualified opportunity pipeline, maintain accurate forecasting, and provide regular updates on project status, specifications, competitive activity, and revenue outlook.
  • Represent Midea at customer meetings, trade events, industry functions, and specification-driven selling opportunities.
  • Develop strong working relationships with distributors, rep agencies, and channel partners to improve pull-through and market penetration.
  • Monitor market trends, renovation cycles, competitive products, incentive opportunities, and vertical-market requirements to strengthen Midea’s go-to-market strategy.
