About The Position

Winpak is seeking an experienced and skilled National Accounts Manager to join their Protein team. Reporting to the Market Director, the National Account Manager plays a key role in shaping and growing Winpak’s strategic national customer partnerships within the protein packaging segment. This position is responsible for driving profitable growth by building trusted, long-term relationships, developing and executing tailored account strategies, and delivering innovative, value-added packaging solutions. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and collaborative partner who can align customer needs with Winpak’s commercial objectives and strengthen our brand presence across the U.S. protein market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, engineering, packaging science, meat science, or related educational foundation.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in protein packaging, including national account management, sales, project management and/or strategic sourcing.
  • Proven record of achieving sales growth and managing complex, multi-site customer relationships.
  • 5+ years of experience building long-term client relationships in a business-to-business (B2B) environment.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting and preparing complex contracts with clients
  • Able to travel as required to meet with clients, attend trade shows, and oversee sales activities within the assigned territory.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in the packaging industry, with a preference for supporting perishable food products
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with internal teams (e.g., production, logistics, sales support) to deliver the best outcomes for clients.
  • 5+ years of experience in a role that required cultivating and nurturing client relationships, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow assigned national accounts within the protein segment (beef, pork, poultry, deli meats), serving as the primary commercial point of contact for executive, procurement, operations, and technical decision-makers.
  • Develop and implement account-specific business plans that support annual sales, margin, and growth objectives.
  • Identify, lead, and coordinate pipeline development opportunities, including innovative and technical packaging solutions, to drive incremental sales, margin improvement, and share of wallet.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers and internal stakeholders to assess performance and identify new opportunities.
  • Drive margin improvement, cost-reduction initiatives and value-based selling within national accounts.
  • Prepare and manage annual sales budgets, forecasts, and pricing strategies in accordance with company policy, report regularly to senior leadership.
  • Lead pricing strategy, contract negotiations, and agreement execution for assigned national accounts in accordance with company policy and margin objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer feedback to inform account strategy and adjust approaches accordingly.
  • Align and collaborate with area sales managers, regional sales managers and cross-functional internal stakeholders to ensure consistent account coverage and service excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Technical Services, Customer Service, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment with customer needs and delivery of quality solutions.
  • Represent Winpak at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to strengthen relationships and enhance market visibility.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
