About The Position

The National Account Manager, Retail position is responsible for developing and growing relationships with existing and new accounts to drive sales and market share primarily within Hardware Co-Ops, independent hardware stores, and lumberyards. This role serves as the primary point of contact for strategic customers, ensuring their needs are met through account strategy, planning, program alignment, dealer execution, and collaboration with internal teams. The position will take on other Ferguson brands where applicable. This is a fully Remote role and can be based anywhere in the continental US. Ideal candidate would be based in the Midwest, but not a requirement.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and selling skills
  • 3+ years in Retail / Co-Op National Accounts
  • 2+ years of managing Independent Manufacture Representatives
  • Participated in category line reviews
  • Self-starter, collaborative team player
  • Self-motivated with high level of energy capable of maneuvering throughout an organization to achieve results
  • Demonstrated organization, analytic and leadership skills
  • Experience in development, execution of strategic business plans

Responsibilities

  • Revenue and share growth through relationship and account management
  • Key account planning, execution, forecasting
  • Calls on and develops downstream relationships with key customers
  • Internal coordination working closely with Channel, Supply Chain and Finance teams
  • Delivers business and industry specific insights
  • Lead and support Independent Manufacture Representative, meeting expectations for field execution and service
  • Manage spring and fall conferences working closely with agency and channel teams
  • Provide competitive marketing and pricing programs with solutions needed to be effective in the marketplace
  • Establish measurable criteria for success, track, analyze, and provide monthly report on performance
  • Active collaboration with other Ferguson Business Units
