Position Summary: The Nail Technician, in accordance with established policies and procedures and/or specific instructions, is responsible for specializing in nails according to latest style, period, or character portrayal, following instructions of patron, make-up artist, or script, by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must maintain a current Virginia Nail Technician license.
  • Ability to act in a resident’s best interest and make responsible choices and decisions.
  • Ability to work as a team with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Organization and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Windows, Outlook, and Excel) and the ability to learn new applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with seniors is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes nails to ascertain condition of nails and determine nail requirements.
  • Studies features of patron and arranges, shapes, and trims nails to achieve desired effect.
  • Cleans, shapes, and polishes fingernails and toenails.
  • Creates new style especially for patron.
  • Suggests cosmetics for conditions such as dry or oily skin and applies lotions and creams to customer's nails to soften skin and lubricate tissues.
  • Maintains a sanitized work station and tools.
