Provides comprehensive music therapy assessment and treatment plan for each client served. Conducts regular home or clinic-based individual and/or group music therapy sessions for clients on caseload. Consults and collaborates with family and team members in support of client needs. Plans programming for group sessions in collaboration with team members. Interacts with clients to demonstrate respect, acknowledgement of rights, and dignity at all times . Keeps abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations. Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities a nd assigned work areas. Seeks the best use of materials, equipment, and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Acts as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in music therapy (or related field with academic and clinical training program for music therapy approved by the American Music Therapy Association) from an accredited program .
• Certification from the National Association of Music Therapists ( MT-BC ).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors, developmental and/or emotional disabilities required.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications including: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements.
• Ability to pass and maintain Critical Moments Training (CMT) Certification.
• Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification.
• Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR. 02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving) .
• Successful completion of pre-employment physical required .

• One year of people management or clinical supervision experience preferred.
