The purpose of this position is to record and document all steps in judicial procedures. This is accomplished by providing clerical, administrative, and customer service support to the Municipal Court; processing court documents, citations, and payments; maintaining accurate case records; preparing reports and orders; and ensuring compliance with applicable court procedures, Texas law, and security requirements. Reporting Relationship : Reports to the Assistant City Manager Supervisory Responsibilities : None ; however, exercises autonomy and sound judgement over tasks as assigned Essential Duties & Responsibilities : Court Administration: Prepare and maintain court documents, assemble court dockets, and assist with arraignments, hearings, trials, and other court proceedings as needed. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of citations, Class C misdemeanors, traffic violations, warrants, bonds, payment plans, deferred dispositions, defensive driving cases, and other municipal cases; track case status and update case management systems. Financial Duties: Collect fines, fees, and court costs; issue receipts; balance cash drawers; reconcile payments; process deposits and refunds; and maintain related transaction records and reports. L egal Support: Prepare subpoenas, notices, summonses, warrants, and other court forms; assist with jail dockets, compliance matters, community service paperwork, and other routine case processing. Communication: Respond to inquiries from the public, city staff, attorneys, law enforcement, and other agencies regarding court procedures, case status, payments, and related matters . Administrative Tasks: Process daily mail; scan, file, copy, and distribute documents; maintain office supplies; schedule court appearances; and perform related clerical duties as assigned. Reporting: Compile routine reports, logs, and statistical information related to court activity and case processing. Compliance: Maintain compliance with applicable Texas statutes, municipal court policies, CJIS/security requirements, confidentiality standards, and court procedures.
