About The Position
Atlanta NOW on HOT 97 is a bold, community-driven news and culture discussion program that spotlights local and national stories, music headlines, and issues that matter to Metro Atlanta. The show focuses on the news and conversations shaping everyday life, powered by authentic voices, community contributors, and user-generated content through the NOW Local News App. This three-hour daily show weaves in the city’s music scene, connecting stories of innovation, growth, and change with the local people defining Metro Atlanta’s culture. Based in one of the nation’s most influential centers of hip hop, the show captures Atlanta’s energy as a cultural and creative powerhouse. We’re seeking a versatile Multimedia Editor/Technical Producer to support Atlanta NOW on HOT97 across broadcast, digital, and social platforms. This hybrid role blends video editing, technical production, content creation, on-camera appearances, and support for the Atlanta NOW show. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in editing and technical workflows, comfortable troubleshooting behind the scenes, and equally capable of creating engaging digital content. This position plays a key role in elevating Atlanta NOW across all platforms. The Multimedia Editor/Technical Producer will also help shape story ideas, support show production, and appear on camera as needed.
Requirements
- Associate degree, Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 1-3 years in an editing, technical or production role for the Multimedia Content Producer job
- Experience in video editing, digital production, or multimedia content creation
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort with production equipment and editing software
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or similar editing tools
- Ability to create content quickly and react to breaking news or viral moments as they happen
- Strong writing, storytelling, and captioning ability
- Comfortable appearing on camera for social videos and show segments
- Ability to support broadcast production with editing, writing, technical troubleshooting, and content preparation
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, creative environment
Responsibilities
- Edit daily video content for broadcast, digital, and social platforms (packages, teases, vertical clips, promos, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and assist with production technology, including cameras, editing systems, studio equipment, and digital workflows
- Clip and edit video moments from the show for both on-air and digital/social distribution, including the NOW Local News App
- Support the technical execution of the Atlanta NOW show (graphics, video playback, digital asset management, directing, etc.)
- Maintain organized media workflows and ensure content is delivered on time across platforms
- Identify UGC submitted via the NOW Local News App and edit for use across all platforms
- Shoot video for all platforms
- Create, edit, and publish compelling content optimized for each platform (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, Facebook, NOW Local News App, etc.)
- Help manage and grow social platforms for HOT97 Atlanta and Atlanta NOW, including the NOW Local News App
- Develop creative ideas to expand reach, strengthen brand identity, and drive engagement
- Promote Atlanta NOW segments and HOT97 Atlanta shows across digital platforms
- Shoot video, appear on camera, and participate in short-form social content
- Assist with producing and/or directing the Atlanta NOW show as needed
- Source and organize user-generated content from the NOW Local News App
- Pitch story ideas suitable for all platforms: broadcast, digital, and social
- Edit video, soundbites, and clips for the show
- Join the show as a guest or contributor as needed
- Stay plugged into Atlanta news, politics, entertainment, music culture
- Attend community events to capture content and/or represent the station
- Other duties as assigned
