About The Position

The purpose of this position is to assist the College of Doctoral Studies with multimedia content creation, digital communication initiatives, and social media engagement in support of doctoral learners and faculty. This is accomplished through the development of engaging visual, audio, and interactive media using industry-standard tools and platforms. The selected student worker will gain hands-on experience in multimedia production, instructional design, social media strategy, and digital communication within a higher education research environment. The position will also provide general administrative support to ensure smooth operations within the College of Doctoral Studies.

Requirements

  • Must be available to work over Summer.
  • Multimedia, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Film Production, or related student preferred.
  • Proficiency with multimedia software (Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar) with ability to learn new tools.
  • Strong creative and visual design skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently while functioning within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with video editing, graphic design, or audio production.
  • Professional demeanor and communication skills.
  • Punctual and deadline-oriented.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation best practices for professional/academic audiences.
  • Prior experience with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general office administrative tasks.
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

  • Portfolio of previous multimedia work (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop social media content including graphics, short-form videos, and multimedia posts to promote doctoral program activities and research milestones.
  • Design and develop multimedia content including videos, graphics, and interactive presentations for doctoral programs.
  • Create and edit educational materials and promotional content for doctoral research initiatives.
  • Maintain and update digital resources and web-based multimedia assets.
  • Assist with video production, audio editing, and graphic design projects as needed.
  • Provide administrative assistance including data entry, document preparation, and coordination of departmental communications as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
