Your Mission: Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. This position is on the afternoon shift 3pm-11:00pm. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines, following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand power tools; examining form and texture of parts. Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and others measuring instruments. Controls downtime by ensuring routine preventive maintenance techniques are accomplished. Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment. Communicate with operators daily on shift to ensure machinery is running properly. Clean and maintain work areas in maintenance shop and around plant equipment after completing work. Respond to emergency maintenance request as required. Follow all plant rules and safety rules and regulations. Order parts for machinery for w/o’s on equipment needing repair. Other duties as assigned.
