Job Summary ConocoPhillips holds approximately 372,000 total net acres in the Midland Basin, which includes approximately 265,000 unconventional net acres located in the heart of west Texas. The company operates over 2,800 producing wells across Midland, Upton, Andrews, Martin, and Glasscock counties. In 2024, the company operated five rigs and two frac crews on average during 2024, resulting in 119 operated wells drilled and 111 operated wells brought online. Net production in 2024 averaged 182 MBOED. Position Overview At ConocoPhillips, our Lease Operators—known internally as Multi-Skill Operators (MSOs)—play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable oil and gas production across our assets. This field-based position offers the opportunity to work independently in dynamic outdoor environments, using your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to make a real impact. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. Oil and gas experience is a plus but not required—strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn are equally valued. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Current/valid driver's license
  • 1 or more years of experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment operation, or inspection
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform/align with following: Work in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform/align with following: Work in several different geographic locations throughout a single workday

Nice To Haves

  • 1 or more years’ experience in oil and gas production or health, safety, and environmental (HSE) roles
  • Associate’s degree or trade certification in Production Technology or a related field
  • Computer and data entry skills
  • Responsive to visual and auditory signals, alarms, and instructions

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily field operations across assigned wells and facilities in the Crane area, monitoring equipment and production performance to ensure safe, reliable flow and timely response to operational needs
  • Inspect tanks, meters, separators, compressors, and pipelines to identify and prevent leaks or operational issues
  • Gauge tanks to measure crude oil and water levels for safe and efficient transfers
  • Operate and troubleshoot compressors, gas lift wells, sand traps, and flowback equipment
  • Maintain chemical injection rates and execute well start-up/shut-in procedures
  • Enter and validate production data in digital systems to support accurate reporting and decision-making
  • Participate in facility walk-throughs, safety reviews, and regulatory documentation
  • Update piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) and site security documentation
  • Respond to alarms and fulfill on-call duties to minimize downtime and resolve field issues
  • Apply all safety, environmental, and company policies to protect personnel, assets, and the environment
