Microsoft AI (MAI) is seeking experienced Developer Evangelists to… Champion the adoption of our AI platform technologies for developers in MAI and across Microsoft. Work with the mission to empower engineering teams to build faster, smarter, and more reliably on our platform. As a Developer Advocate, you’ll serve as the connective tissue between platform engineering and product teams, translating technical capabilities into developer-friendly experiences and feedback into actionable improvements. You will work closely with platform architects and engineers to simplify AI application-building and create repeatable patterns for building AI products across Microsoft. Work hands-on to improve and refine our libraries and the developer experience as a whole. Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. By applying to this U.S. Mountain View, CA position, you are required to be local to the San Francisco area and in office 3 days a week. Starting January 26, 2026, MAI employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 50 miles (U.S.) or 25 miles (non-U.S., country-specific) of that location. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Create technical content (tutorials, sample apps, blog posts, videos) that demonstrates real-world uses and best practices for the company’s platform or APIs.
Organize and deliver live presentations, workshops, ,webinars, and internal events to drive awareness and practical adoption.
Maintain and contribute to developer-facing documentation, SDKs, command-line tools, and code examples to improve onboarding and reduce friction.
Act as the primary liaison between the developer community and platform engineering teams; surface feature requests, common bugs, and usability issues.
Monitor internal channels, and telemetry to respond to questions, triage problems, and identify trends.
Measure and report on developer metrics (adoption, retention, active usage, contributions) and craft narratives to show business impact.
Create feedback loops and structured processes for bug reporting, feature prioritization, and product validation with developers.
Advocate for developer-first design inside the company by insisting on clarity, tooling, and workflows that reduce cognitive load and friction.
