About The Position

PayPal, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA Job Duties: Lead engineering efforts and team level processes by defining outcomes for others, refining ongoing processes, and providing technical advice to senior leaders on systems, solutions, challenges and strategy. Desing, develop and maintain consumer-facing mobile applications at scale. Write Unit and Automation tests. Develop technical engineering roadmap by completing quality and thorough assessments of implementation alternatives and their associated tradeoffs and providing recommendations. Support end-to-end ownership of software design, implementation, and operational excellence of software components while proactively improving existing structures and processes. Oversee projects, ensuring an accurate, complete, timely, and operable solution is delivered. Identify and anticipate consequences and risks linked to implementation choices; identify patterns to reduce repetition into meaningful general solutions. Evangelize technical standards, engineering best practices, and quality across larger Venmo team and PayPal, Inc. Interact and tailor communication with various technical and non-technical stakeholders, such as product, support, finance operations, compliance, and legal. Utilize knowledge of and experience with Swift/Kotlin, multi-threaded, asynchronous code, GraphQL and REST APIs from Mobile applications, design patterns, algorithms, and object-oriented programming and design patterns such as MVC and MVVM. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Requirements

  • Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
