About The Position

Ivy Academy is a public charter school dedicated to experiential learning, environmental stewardship, and academic excellence. Our mission is to empower students through hands-on, inquiry-based education that connects learning to the real world. We are seeking a Science Teacher to teach 6th Grade Biology and 9th Grade Environmental Science . The ideal candidate is committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, & a love for science through engaging, student-centered instruction. This role is perfect for an educator who is excited to integrate outdoor learning, project-based instruction, & real-world applications into their teaching.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching license (or eligibility for licensure in Tennessee)
• Strong content knowledge in Biology and Environmental Science
• Ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with project-based or experiential learning preferred

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in Biology and Environmental Science
• Create a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, respect, and high expectations
• Incorporate hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences
• Utilize outdoor and experiential learning opportunities when appropriate
• Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary learning experiences
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, families, and staff
