Capstone Research Corporation is seeking to expand our team. We have an immediate opening for a Group Manager (GM) to lead the Company's Modeling, Simulation, Analysis (MS&A), Digital Engineering, and Software Development group. This role is responsible for delivering advanced analytic capabilities, scalable software solutions, and modern digital engineering environments in support of U.S. Government defense programs. This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, related field, or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in leadership and management, with at least 10 years overseeing government projects in modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating modeling & simulation with software systems and digital engineering frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of: DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices; Cloud, hybrid, and/or air-gapped computing environments; data-centric engineering and digital thread concepts.
  • Experience with physics-based, engagement-level, or mission-level simulations.
  • Experience in systems engineering and digital engineering integration.
  • Knowledge of Monte Carlo analysis, sensitivity analysis, and trade studies.
  • In-depth knowledge of government contracting, procurement processes, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Active SECRET clearance or eligibility to obtain one.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in engineering, computer science, or related field
  • PMP, PgMP, or other relevant program management certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience with DoD simulation frameworks and analytic tools such as AFSIM, STK, MATLAB / Simulink, Python and/or C++ analytic models.
  • Mission domain experience in missile systems or integrated fires, integrated air & missile defense, sensor-to-shooter architectures, command an control systems, joint or multi-domain operations.
  • Data analytics and software skills.
  • Active Top Secret (or TS/SCI) clearance

Responsibilities

  • Manage government programs (contracts, subcontracts, and task orders), ensuring cost, schedule, and technical performance, while incorporating modern software delivery and digital engineering practices.
  • Own group profit and loss (P&L), resource planning, and growth strategy.
  • Execute and continuously evolve company strategy across: Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and digital engineering ecosystems; mission engineering frameworks; Cloud-enabled and distributed simulation environments; AI/ML-assisted modeling, simulation, and software development; DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure as code; containerized and microservices-based architectures (e.g., Kubernetes-based platforms); and data-centric engineering and integrated digital environments (IDE/DEEs)
  • Establish digital thread/data integration across requirements, models, software, test, and analysis artifacts.
  • Oversee development of Physics-based, engagement-level, and mission-level simulations; scalable analytic software tools and services; and integrated data pipelines and automated analysis frameworks.
  • Ensure implementation of secure, repeatable, and auditable software delivery pipelines with built-in testing, validation, and cybersecurity controls.
  • Drive adoption of modular, reusable software components and model reuse strategies across programs.
  • Champion DevSecOps culture and practices, including: automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git-based workflows); containerization and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Rancher); and operation in both connected and air-gapped environments.
  • Oversee development and sustainment of internal developer platforms supporting software and modeling teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Government stakeholders (e.g., PEOs, labs, and mission customers), ensuring alignment on technical direction and mission outcomes.
  • Translate mission needs into integrated digital and software solutions that improve decision speed, fidelity, and operational effectiveness.
  • Establish career paths and technical growth opportunities in areas such as MBSE, AI/ML, and cloud-native software development.
  • Conduct performance reviews and foster a high-performing, collaborative, and innovative culture.
  • Support capture and proposal activities with emphasis on digital engineering, software modernization, and advanced analytics solutions.
  • Identify and shape opportunities aligned with DoD priorities (e.g., digital transformation, JADC2, integrated fires, multidomain operations).
  • Collaborate with company leadership to implement growth strategies and expand customer footprint.
