About The Position

The Corporate Banking Portfolio Group Manager is responsible for managing, leading, and training a team of portfolio managers, managing workflow and pipelines of loans through the approval process, providing support and guidance to team and lesser experienced lenders. Additionally, will be involved in evaluating, recommending approval/disapproval of complex commercial loan applications in a timely manner while adhering to bank standards and loan policies. This position will also support Corporate and Commercial loan portfolios of various lenders. The Corporate Banking Portfolio Group Manager will work with Portfolio Managers, Commercial Lenders, and Corporate Banking Lenders to meet client expectations. Duties and Responsibilities: Direct the underwriting of larger, more complex loan requests which include new loans, amendments, extensions, modifications and renewals.Train, coach, and develop Portfolio Manager team members Manage deal flow of new and renewal requests. Guide the loan request through the Credit Approval Process and ensure structure meets the needs of the client and the objectives of the bank. Analyze financial statements, industry and market data and prepare credit approval package that clearly outlines and expresses an independent opinion on key considerations in the credit decision. Ensure requests/relationships are within regulatory compliance Assist lenders with monitoring relationships through covenant testing and tracking Review loan packages for completeness and accuracy of information provided Work with Lenders and Portfolio Managers to produce term sheets and commitment letters Assign proper risk ratings supported by thorough analysis and recommend adjustments to risk ratings as circumstances change or new information becomes available Accompany Lenders and Portfolio Managers on calls with customers and prospects as requested Along with portfolio managers and lenders, track and resolve document exceptions related to closing and all ongoing exceptions. Work with portfolio managers to perform annual reviews of credits Prepares files for loan review and examiners Build and maintain positive relationships with production and operation staff Create management reports based on in-house data. Work with the Portfolio Manager team to analyze financial information and produce a cash flow analysis. Maintain a thorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and appropriate regulatory issues as related to daily job functions, including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Remain informed of current economic and legislative conditions Serve in civic, community and industry related activities, as needed Remain current on FDIC, OCC, and State Banking Regulations Complete required compliance training and adhere to the Bank’s standard of conduct. Participate in the bank’s High-Performance Rewards Connections program. Make referrals to the Mortgage Center and Wealth Management. Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field
  • Preferred minimum Fifteen (15) years banking experience with at least ten (10) years portfolio management experience and two (2) years credit analysis experience and working with Underwriters and Lenders.
  • Five (5) years of management experience required.
  • Must have experience working with complex loans
  • Experience assisting Commercial Lenders with complex, diversified sensitive and high dollar credit amounts
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial and retail lending services, documentation, underwriting, regulatory guidelines, financial ratios, credit analysis, and lending duties is required
  • Able to interpret and analyze personal and business tax returns/financial statements
  • Ability to calculate complicated financial ratios and apply accordingly
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing, read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
  • Possess ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Must possess attention to detail
  • Work outside of regular business hours, as deemed necessary
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with daily deadlines.
