Darigold is seeking an experienced and motivated MRO Buyer to join the Operations team at our Portland Plant. The MRO Buyer is responsible for planning and coordinating ongoing purchasing of all parts, supplies and services required for continuous operations. The MRO Buyer works with the plant leadership team to develop a daily plan that maximizes runtime and minimizes expenses. Darigold is the fifth largest dairy cooperative in the United States based on milk volume and one of the largest privately held organizations headquartered in the state of Washington. What You Will Do: Interact with Plant Maintenance Engineers and vendors to locate, order and stock the required parts that enable continuous operations, while adhering to department budget. Integrate vendor and Darigold resources; develop/review critical spare lists for existing and new equipment in the plant. Maintain appropriate levels of organization so that all items ordered, received and paid for are readily available for the Maintenance team. This will also require the MRO Buyer to notify the Maintenance Planner and Engineers of the arrival of materials required to complete pending work orders and preventive maintenance. Issue POs for necessary outside vendor service work. Research and follow up on questionable invoices and packing slips when requested. Investigate and resolve any order discrepancies. Partner with Engineers, Maintenance Manager and Planner to establish and maintain new parts inventory, including min/max levels utilizing min/max reports, critical spares and the proper level of security to ensure inventory accuracy. Retrieve necessary parts information for ordering purposes via equipment information, manuals and/or CMMS system. Assist and lead 5S storeroom improvement projects. Strict adherence to Corporate and/or Plant policies, rules and regulations. Complete all purchasing through various systems. Facilitate daily communication with the Chief Engineers and Maintenance Manager to determine purchasing priorities. Leverage inventory control practices to enable the utilization of a weekly reorder report. Supervise parts clerk, who receives, labels and inventories all parts, prepares parts for jobs, performs inventory counts and manages open past due POs and invoices on hold. Demonstrate a continual effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively with other departments to provide a quality and seamless operation. Provide on- and off-hour emergency response to major equipment issues.
