About The Position

Under general supervision, performs basic professional purchasing activities with respect to readily available and commonly used supplies, materials and services of a routine nature. Ensures proper business needs are being met by evaluating suppliers and quotations to obtain best price possible with keeping quality, service and delivery requirements in mind.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Knowledge of Purchasing procedures and terms
  • Good written and oral communication skills and good presentation skills
  • Competent level of experience using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to calculate mathematical figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing strategies, negotiations and procurement of machinery and equipment.   items such as conveyors, presses, stamping machines, testers, assembly equipment and tooling.
  • Lead North America sourcing strategy for returnable and expendable packaging, including but not limited to corrugated cardboard, plastic returnable totes, plastic pallets, metal racking and wooden pallets.
  • Manage suppliers across various MRO categories (initially in Capex and Packaging).
  • Lead negotiations, long-term agreements, and pricing strategies.
  • Work with site Stakeholders to align on short and long-term sourcing strategies.
  • Track supplier performance and drive corrective actions.
  • Support supplier-risk mitigation efforts.
  • Partner with maintenance, engineering, tooling, and production teams to identify cost reduction projects and target products for cost down negotiations.
  • Support internal stakeholders with TPM, PM, and predictive maintenance projects as it relates to Procurement.
  • Support resolution of supply issues to prevent downtime.
  • Lead MRO cost-reduction initiatives and vendor consolidation.
  • Conduct spend analysis and refine category strategies.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, TPM, and RCM.
  • Ensure adherence to IATF 16949, ISO standards, procurement policies, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data and documentation.
  • Support audit activities.
