About The Position

As an MRI Technologist at Georgia Bone and Joint Surgeons, this position produces detailed images for medical diagnosis by performing a variety of magnetic resonance imaging procedures. The employee must work collaboratively with all staff and physicians in support of direct patient services, exhibiting flexibility and a “can-do” attitude. The position must exemplify the core values and mission of our organization while always exercising the utmost discretion, diplomacy, and tact in patient and staff interactions.

Requirements

  • Completion of a two-year approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Valid state radiology registration as required by state law.
  • Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Experience in computer usage.
  • Medical Terminology/Anatomy.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.

Nice To Haves

  • MR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI according to protocols.
  • Maintain proper quality control procedures.
  • Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI exams and equipment.
  • Must be able to work extended hours when necessary.
  • Instruct and prepare patient for MRI exams (including screening forms).
  • Start IV to administer contrast when ordered.
  • Cleans and disinfects MRI room, along with following infection control guidelines.
  • Print surgical films as requested by physicians and staff.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
  • Maintain a neat work area.
  • Maintain professional appearance and personal conduct at all times.
  • Adhere to employer work practices as described in Georgia Bone & Joint Surgeons Employee Handbook.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management.
  • Effectively cope with typical job stress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
