About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join a fast-paced imaging environment on a short-term contract. The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, compliance with established protocols, and adherence to regulatory and professional standards.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of MRI physics, cross-sectional anatomy, and imaging principles
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in MRI procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and patient safety awareness
  • Graduate of an AMA- or J.C.E.R.T.–approved Radiologic Technology program
  • Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiology
  • ARRT MRI Registry
  • BCLS Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years of MRI Technologist experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and physician orders
  • Position patients and MRI coils to obtain optimal diagnostic images
  • Educate patients on MRI procedures and provide clear pre- and post-scan instructions
  • Review and verify MRI safety screening questionnaires prior to scanning
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and diagnostic accuracy
  • Label, document, and transmit completed studies to PACS in a timely manner
  • Complete, track, and maintain accurate study documentation in the Radiology Information System (IDX)
  • Maintain MRI suite cleanliness, safety, and organization
  • Monitor inventory and ensure availability of MRI supplies and accessories
  • Scan, manage, and maintain patient-related documentation
  • Schedule MRI exams as needed
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to leadership
  • Assist physicians during procedures when required
  • Perform clerical and administrative duties as needed in the absence of support staff
  • Enforce strict MRI safety standards to prevent ferromagnetic incidents
  • Adhere to infection control policies, hospital guidelines, and professional standards
  • Participate in required in-services, training, and continuing education
