About The Position

MRI Technologists play a crucial role in patient care by providing high-quality diagnostic imaging, which enables healthcare providers to make informed decisions regarding patient treatment and management. In this position, the technologist is responsible for selecting appropriate technical factors based on various patient characteristics such as procedure, diagnosis, age, size, weight, anatomical differences, and general health status. The role also requires the ability to identify educational needs, gather patient history, and clearly explain procedures and care to patients using easily understandable terminology.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Must be registered by the ARRT
• If registry eligible, must pass registry within one year of accepting the position
• Must be licensed by state where required or ARDMS (American registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
• Current CPR

Responsibilities

• Select proper technical factors based on procedure, diagnosis, age, size, weight and anatomical differences and general health status of patients
• Demonstrate the knowledge to identify educational needs
• Obtain a patient’s history
• Use easily understood terminology for explaining procedures and care to patients
