About The Position

The Imaging Department MRI Technologist works under general direction of the Lead MRI Technologist performs MRI exams and related activities.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent
• Graduation from an A.R.R.T. accredited school of X-Ray Technology
• A.R.R.T. registration in radiography
• Current Mississippi State Board of Health registration as a Medical Radiation Technologist
• CPR for health care workers
• Ability to work independently and with limited supervision
• Ability to work in a highly magnetic field
• Ability to stand/walk, bend, stoop, twist
• Ability to assist patients in turning
• Ability to assist patients in arising from exam table
• Ability to push wheelchair/stretcher patients
• Ability to assist patients in arising and returning to wheelchair and/or stretchers

Nice To Haves

• One to three years experience performing MRI and/or three to five years experience performing CT scans
• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• A.R.R.T. certification in MRI
