About The Position

Here at Fairview, we are hiring an MRI Technologist to join our Imaging Department at our University of MN Medical Center - West Bank location in Minneapolis, MN! This is a 0.6 FTE (48 hours per pay period) position that will work the following schedule with weekends as needed: Wk 1: 3:00pm to 11:00pm Wed, Thurs, Fri. Wk 2: 3:00pm to 11:00pm Mon, Tues, Wed. If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3pm – 11pm, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials. The MRI Technologist functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (ARRT). This position is eligible for a sign on bonus that is prorated based on experience.

Requirements

  • ARRT Radiology Tech
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous healthcare experience
  • 1 year experience in a related role
  • Meet MRI Safety Screen requirements
  • Additional certifications in Imaging
  • ARRT MRI certification or successful completion within 1-1/2 Yrs

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and prioritizes work to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Performs individualized, compassionate patient care
  • Performs high quality examinations
  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately
  • Uses appropriate communication skills to meet patient/family, and other customer needs.
  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
  • Participates in creating a culture of patient safety
  • Adheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures
  • Accurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changes
  • Follows infection control guidelines
  • Serves as a resource for other healthcare team members
  • Responds appropriately to emergent situations
