About The Position

Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA, is seeking an MRI Technologist for a Full Time, Evening Shift position. This role involves performing general MRI examinations, ensuring the safety of the MRI operational area for all individuals, and maintaining adequate supply inventory. The technologist will explain procedures to patients, complete departmental documentation, and provide quality MRI imaging under the direction of a supervising physician, adhering to required protocol standards. Requirements

• Completion of MRI school/MRI certificate program OR Graduate of 24 month program in radiologic technology
• CNMT, ARDMS, ARRT, or ARMRIT (Required)
• Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire
• BLS

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year experience in a Rad Tech position to include Radiologic Tech, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography or Ultrasound
• Six (6) months MR experience or completion of MR didactic program
• Experience with GE and Siemens Equipment

Responsibilities

• Performs general MRI examinations
• Maintains safety integrity of MRI operational area for all persons including staff and customers
• Maintains adequate supply inventory for performing examinations
• Explains examination and procedure to patient
• Completes departmental documentation
• Provide quality MRI Imaging to patients under the direction of a supervising physician with adherence to the required protocol standards
• Administration of MRI contrast per protocol
• Evaluates and approves patient MRI safety screening form prior to patient entering scanner
• Knowledge of MRI safety zones and other safety regulations
• Reviewing patient records for accuracy and evaluating all implants and devices through vendor resources
• Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
• Maintaining patient records, reports, and files
• Performs patient MRI exam per protocol
• Reviews imaging for accuracy and quality prior to sending for interpretation
