About The Position

At Cleveland Clinic Health System, the MRI Technologist I performs routine MRI exams and procedures on patients of all ages, health backgrounds, and conditions. The role emphasizes ensuring patient comfort, safety, and proper information throughout the process, contributing to a welcoming and supportive experience. Caregivers in this role have access to opportunities to enhance their skills using the latest technologies and make a positive impact on patients daily. The position is located at Cleveland Clinic Lutheran Hospital, a Magnet Hospital, and involves working evenings plus on-call shifts from 2:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited institution per the primary pathway of the ARRT
  • Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT), R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(T)(ARRT)] in good standing OR Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(N) (ARRT)] OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) through the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging [R.T.(MR)(ARRT)] Certification within one year of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist or in other imaging modalities

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and review patient questionnaire, chart and data/requisition to determine contraindication of having MRI examination.
  • Perform MRI procedures required per protocol and perform daily QA.
  • Educate patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment, and exams.
  • Ensure patients' comfort and safety during and after the exam.
  • Report any malfunctions and observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems or calls for service.
  • Maintain available equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility.
  • Processes billing via RIS.
  • Instruct and mentor new hires and Radiology students.
  • Attend in-service programs and professional affiliation sessions.
